Minutes from the Tuesday October 7, 2025 Personnel and Policy Committee Meeting
Present- Mayor Carol Bourgeois Jr., Christie Connor, Alderwoman Simmons, Alderwoman Moore, and also present Police Chief Terrance Moore. The Mayor called the meeting to order and led the prayer. There were no public comments. There was a discussion on the current permitting process. Alderwoman Simmons asked about the process for nuisance and the Mayor responded how we reach out to the owners, and the proper follow-up. The Mayor explained how the current staffing levels have put a strain on enforcement. Then the noise ordinance was discussed. Chief Moore addressed how the department has responded citing the incident from the previous weekend where an arrest was made and a car was towed. Alderwoman Simmons stated that the ordinance states that the owner of the establishment is responsible for area surrounding the business. In the case of the Denn they are cleaning up after closing. They also addressed how to address the noise as the clubs were closing. Alderwoman Simmons then asked everyone to look at the food truck ordinance, there was a revision on page for to make non-compliance a civil issue, Chief Moore wants it to be criminal so Alderwoman Simmons will revise. With no other items to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
