Minutes from the Tuesday Oct 8, 2024 Finance Committee Meeting Present –Alderwoman Christia Simmons, Alderwoman Charlene Moore, Mayor Carol Bourgeois Jr. Finance Manager Christie Connor and City Clerk Susan Colden. There were no public comments. Alderwoman Simmons started that the committee will be reviewing the August P & L comparing budget to actual. The income and expenses should be around 15%. Alderwoman Simmons noted that the Building permit and Backflow Prevention permits were way ahead of projections, She also questioned if the NCourt corresponding transfers were made to the AdValorem because in Sept we transferred June. She also questioned why it had a negative MTD balance. She also noted variances in the Worker’s Compensation, and Building Code inspector,.and in the Police Department Repairs and Maintenance Building. With no other business to discuss the meeting was adjourned. The collections of Ad Valorem seems low. Fund 57 is wrong, and Alderwoman Simmons is creating a manual P & L. Next is Fire Protection, there is an transfer that should have been in last fiscal year. Criminalists does not show up in the Police Protection fund and Susan will check with Paula. For the Utility fund, payroll taxes are way over, that needs review and bank fees. Under system & equipment maint-plant is over budget. Also, there is not a budget in transfer to fire protection fund.
